A COLLECTOR'S LIBRARY
SERVICES: INTERIOR DESIGN, STYLING, CUSTOM INSTALLATIONS
A verdant escape in the concrete jungle of Manhattan, The Vine is nestled between the Fashion and Floral districts and minutes from Madison Square Park - appealing to creative professionals and savvy tourists alike. WCIP was tapped to breathe new life into the freshly renovated hotel lobby, adjoining lounges and restaurant.
Following the eastward movement of galleries into the changing neighborhood, we approached the project with the intention of creating a “living room” for the Chelsea Arts District - building a connective place for artists, dealers, and art lovers alike. Our vision for the space came to life as a contemporary collector’s library, brimming with playful curiosities, objets d’art, rare books and obscure botanical specimens plucked from the neighboring floral district. The newly refurbished industrial interiors were seeded with live plants and furnished with coveted pieces from across the 20th century.
The talented branding firm Reunion Goods and Services developed a sophisticated identity system that spanned the restaurant and cocktail spaces. Curator Kyle DeWoody built a dynamic collection of contemporary works for the space, featuring artists such as Kwangho Lee, Dustin Yellin, Alex Prager, Taylor McKimens, Tony Matelli, Zoe Buckman, Mariah Robertson, Lorna Simpson, Ruby Sky Stiler, and Alex Katz.
The Vine has grown into a smartly appointed hive of activity, imbued with a strong flavor of global wanderlust and urban sophistication – where business and pleasure seamlessly co-exist.
